Two Secret Service officers suspended after brawl outside Obama’s home

Two U.S. Secret Service officers have been suspended following a physical altercation outside former President Barack Obama’s Washington, D.C., residence. The incident occurred around 2:30 a.m. on May 21, 2025, and was captured on video. The footage shows the two uniformed female officers engaged in a heated exchange that escalated into a physical fight, involving punching and shoving. One officer was heard over the radio threatening to “whoop this girl’s ass” while requesting a supervisor’s presence.

The Secret Service confirmed the incident and stated that both officers have been suspended pending an internal investigation. A spokesperson emphasized the agency’s strict code of conduct, stating that any behavior violating this code is unacceptable. The agency declined to provide further details, citing the ongoing personnel matter.

This altercation adds to a series of recent misconduct incidents within the Secret Service. In April 2024, an agent assigned to Vice President Kamala Harris allegedly attacked a supervisor during a workplace breakdown. Additionally, in 2022, an agent was terminated after bringing an unauthorized individual into the Obamas’ Hawaii residence and compromising sensitive information

The Secret Service has faced scrutiny over such incidents, prompting calls for cultural and procedural reforms within the agency. The recent brawl outside Obama’s home underscores the challenges the agency faces in maintaining professionalism and discipline among its ranks
