SNL Denies Taylor Swift’s Request to Cut Sketch – See the Controversial Clip

In 2015, “Saturday Night Live” (SNL) aired a sketch parodying Taylor Swift’s star-studded “Bad Blood” music video, which featured her famous “girl squad.” The sketch portrayed an apocalyptic world dominated by Swift and her entourage, humorously exaggerating the influence and exclusivity of her inner circle. Upon learning about the planned parody, Swift contacted SNL’s creator and executive producer, Lorne Michaels, requesting the sketch be removed. Michaels declined her request, reportedly responding, “I do not negotiate with terrorists.” Despite her initial objections, after the sketch aired, Swift sent Michaels a bouquet of flowers with a note expressing hopes for no “bad blood” between them. This incident highlights SNL’s commitment to creative freedom and its tradition of satirizing public figures, even when faced with pushback from the celebrities themselves.
