Shocking Footage Shows Delta Airlines Flight Flipped Upside-Down After Crash Landing in Toronto

A terrifying scene unfolded at Toronto Pearson International Airport on February 17, 2025, when a Delta Air Lines flight crash-landed and flipped upside down upon impact. The dramatic footage, captured by onlookers and passengers, has since gone viral, showcasing the sheer devastation of the accident.

The Crash Landing

Delta Air Lines Flight 4819, operated by Endeavor Air, was a Bombardier CRJ900 regional jet traveling from Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport to Toronto. Upon its final approach to Pearson Airport, the aircraft encountered severe turbulence and strong winds, with gusts exceeding 50 km/h.

Eyewitnesses report that as the aircraft touched down, it appeared to bounce violently before its landing gear collapsed. Within seconds, the plane skidded uncontrollably before flipping onto its roof, leaving passengers and crew in a terrifying predicament. Emergency responders rushed to the scene, extinguishing flames that had erupted from one of the engines.

Survivor Accounts

Despite the catastrophic nature of the accident, all 76 passengers and four crew members miraculously survived. However, 18 individuals sustained injuries, with three—including a child—reported to be in critical condition.

One survivor, Pete Koukov, shared his harrowing experience on social media. His footage from inside the aircraft shows oxygen masks dangling from the ceiling, luggage strewn across the aisle, and passengers hanging upside-down as they tried to unbuckle themselves. “It felt like we were in a movie. The plane flipped, and for a few seconds, we were just suspended there. I still can’t believe we made it out alive,” he said.

Emergency Response and Investigation

Firefighters and paramedics arrived within minutes, assisting passengers in evacuating the overturned aircraft. Authorities credited the swift response of the emergency crew and the professionalism of the flight attendants for preventing a greater tragedy.

The Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB) has launched an investigation into the incident. Preliminary reports suggest that a combination of adverse weather conditions and a possible mechanical failure may have contributed to the crash landing.

Flight Disruptions and Aftermath

The crash led to significant flight disruptions, with more than 40 flights either canceled or diverted. A British Airways flight from London had to turn back after six hours in the air, while a TAP Air Portugal flight from Lisbon was forced to return to Portugal mid-flight.

Delta Air Lines has since released a statement expressing gratitude that all onboard survived and confirming their full cooperation with the ongoing investigation. As more details emerge, aviation experts are closely analyzing the footage to determine what exactly led to this shocking crash.
