Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley has announced his engagement to his longtime partner, Anna Congdon. The couple, who met at Penn State University in 2016, have been together for nearly a decade and share two children: daughter Jada, born in April 2018, and son Saquon Jr., born in September 2022.
Barkley revealed that he and Congdon have been secretly engaged for six months, a fact he disclosed during a Super Bowl 2025 press conference.
He expressed deep appreciation for Congdon’s unwavering support, stating, “She’s been super helpful and always has my back, not only in football but throughout life.” He added that as they continue to grow together, their bond strengthens, especially as they raise their two children.
The engagement comes at a significant time for Barkley, who is preparing for his first Super Bowl appearance with the Eagles against the Kansas City Chiefs on February 9, 2025, which also coincides with his 28th birthday.
This season has been exceptional for Barkley, who joined the Eagles on a three-year, $37.75 million contract after six years with the New York Giants. He became only the ninth running back in NFL history to surpass 2,000 yards in a season and has been nominated for both Offensive Player of the Year and NFL MVP.
