I Overslept on the Morning of My Crucial College Entrance Exams Because Someone Turned Off My Alarm

The morning of my college entrance exams was supposed to be the most important day of my life. I had spent months preparing, sacrificing sleep and social events to ensure I was ready. I set three alarms the night before, just to be safe. But when I finally opened my eyes, sunlight was streaming through my window—and my heart dropped. I had overslept.

Panicked, I checked my phone. All my alarms had been turned off. Confused and frantic, I rushed to get dressed, my mind racing as I tried to figure out what had happened. I barely made it to the exam hall, breathless and shaken, just as the doors were closing.

After the test, still reeling from the morning’s chaos, I confronted my younger brother, who sheepishly admitted he had turned off my alarms. He thought it would be funny, assuming I’d wake up on my own. But his prank had nearly cost me everything.

I was furious, but there was nothing I could do except wait for my results. The stress of that morning lingered, and I worried it had affected my performance. When the results finally arrived, I hesitated to open them, fearing the worst.

To my surprise, I had passed—with even higher scores than I expected. The adrenaline from that chaotic morning must’ve sharpened my focus. In the end, my brother’s prank didn’t ruin my future, but it taught me a valuable lesson: always have a backup plan, and maybe… don’t trust a mischievous sibling with your alarms.

We laugh about it now, but at the time, it felt like the end of the world. Funny how life works out sometimes.
