Subject: BE VERY CAREFUL If You Get This, You Are Infected…
I know you’re reading this. If you’ve made it this far, it’s already too late.
It starts with a simple message—an odd text, an email, a whisper in a crowded room. Maybe you opened a file that looked harmless, or maybe someone simply looked you in the eye for too long. Whatever it was, you’ve been marked.
At first, you’ll feel fine. That’s how it works. The infection is slow, patient. It waits. You’ll go about your day, shrugging off this message as some sort of joke, maybe even laughing about it. But then, the symptoms begin.
A tickle at the back of your throat. A slight pressure behind your eyes. You’ll chalk it up to allergies, the weather, a bad night’s sleep. But deep down, something will gnaw at you. A whisper in your mind, a creeping realization: this is not normal.
Your reflection in the mirror will linger a little too long, your own face unfamiliar. Shadows will seem to move where they shouldn’t. Strangers will glance at you with something unreadable in their expressions—recognition, perhaps? Pity?
Then comes the real horror.
People around you will start acting differently. Friends will text you less. Conversations will be filled with pauses, as if they sense something is wrong but can’t quite place it. Your name will sound strange when spoken aloud, like an echo from a place you don’t remember visiting.
And then, one night, you’ll wake up at exactly 3:17 AM. You won’t know why. You won’t remember falling asleep. But you will know, without a doubt, that you are not alone.
You’ll hear a faint sound—maybe a whisper, maybe just the wind. But when you turn on the light, nothing will be there. At least, not where you expect it to be.
By now, the infection is complete. It isn’t a virus in your bloodstream. It’s something else. A presence. A knowledge you weren’t supposed to have. And the worst part?
You’ll try to warn someone. Send a message. A desperate call for help. But no one will understand. They’ll tell you to get some rest, to drink water, to stop overthinking.
And then, one by one, they’ll stop responding altogether.
Because the infection isn’t just in you anymore.
It spreads through words, through thoughts, through the act of knowing.
And now, you’ve passed it on.
So be very careful.
If you get this… you’re already infected.
