John F. Kennedy’s Grandson Breaks Silence After Trump Orders to Declassify Files

John F. Kennedy’s grandson, Jack Schlossberg, has spoken out following former President Donald Trump’s decision to declassify thousands of documents related to the assassination of the 35th president. The files, long kept under wraps, were released in compliance with a 1992 law mandating their disclosure by 2017, though some files remained redacted or withheld for national security reasons.

Schlossberg, the son of Caroline Kennedy, expressed mixed feelings about the release of the files. In a public statement, he acknowledged the importance of transparency while cautioning against conspiracy theories that could arise from the partial or incomplete nature of the records. “My grandfather’s legacy is one of hope and progress,” Schlossberg said. “It’s crucial that his life and presidency be remembered for the good he accomplished, not overshadowed by speculation.”

The newly declassified files include FBI and CIA documents shedding light on various aspects of the investigation into Kennedy’s 1963 assassination in Dallas, Texas. While the files do not appear to contain any groundbreaking revelations, they have reignited public interest in the case and fueled long-standing theories about who was truly responsible for the president’s death.

Trump’s decision to release the files drew praise from transparency advocates but also criticism from some historians and national security experts. They argue that the release, while important, must be handled carefully to ensure it does not jeopardize ongoing intelligence operations or spread misinformation.

Schlossberg concluded his remarks by urging the public to approach the newly released documents with caution and a focus on verified facts. “We owe it to history and to my grandfather’s memory to seek truth, not conjecture,” he said, calling for respect for the Kennedy family’s enduring pain over the tragedy.
