‘Another Plane Ran Into Us’: Two Planes Collide at Seattle Airport – Videos Capture Impact

On February 5, 2025, at approximately 10:17 a.m., a Japan Airlines aircraft taxiing for deicing at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) collided with the tail of a parked Delta Air Lines Boeing 737 scheduled to depart for Puerto Vallarta. The incident occurred between the S Concourse and the south airport maintenance hangars. No injuries were reported among passengers or crew members.

Videos and photos shared on social media depict the Japan Airlines plane’s wing slicing into the tail of the stationary Delta jet. Passengers described the experience as loud and frightening.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) noted that the collision occurred in an area not under direct air traffic control. Following the incident, some flights were temporarily halted, but overall airport operations experienced minimal disruption. Passengers from both aircraft safely deplaned, and the FAA has initiated an investigation into the collision.

This event adds to recent concerns in aviation safety, following two deadly crashes and an FAA system outage earlier in the week.
